George Stergiou

George Stergiou is the Director at Stanton Chase Athens. He leads Stanton Chase Athens’ executive search for the financial services and technology sectors, working closely with clients to support their leadership needs. George plays a key role in business development, fostering client relationships, and expanding the firm’s market presence.

Prior to this role, George served as Director for Business Development and Operations at Stanton Chase Athens, where he was responsible for driving business growth and overseeing the office’s operations. With extensive experience in business and corporate development in the professional services sector—particularly in technology, financial services, and consulting—George has worked both in Greece and internationally.

Before joining Stanton Chase, he was the General Manager of a rapidly growing FinTech company. Prior to that, he led business development for a top audit and advisory firm in Greece. George spent over 13 years in senior roles at Thomson Reuters across Geneva, Dubai, and Athens. His positions included Head of New Business in Europe, Managing Director for Southeast Europe, and VP of Strategy and Business Development for regions including the Middle East, Africa, Russia, and Turkey.

He began his executive career at Alpha Bank and holds a BSc in Management and Organizational Behavior from the American College of Greece and an MSc in Management from Surrey European Management School in the UK. George has also been an Investment Committee Member and a Non-Executive Board Member for venture capital and venture financing firms, as well as an advisor for several FinTech startups.
